Enjoy starry nights around the camp fire
The Dogs Day Out guide to camping with your dog.
Visit your vet before the trip - make sure your worms and tic treatments are up to date ( don’t take a puppy before they are fully vaccinated at 6 months old
Ensure your dog is easy to identify and their ID tag is on their collar
Not all campsites welcome dogs so do your research and make sure you are welcome
Be mindful of what your dog eats around the campfire. Chocolate or Raisins are toxic and discarded Corn on the Cobs can be lethal as they can’t be digested.
Pack a Dog first aid kit and print out your dogs medical records to take with you - keep your vets number handy.
Pack more dog food and water than you think you need, camping is an active adventure and they might be hungrier than usual
Leave no trace in the wild policy. Take plenty of biodegradable poo bags for the trip
